Everybody plays in Grid Iron Flag Football where the focus is competitive fun and player development.

Program Variations

In addition to Season League Play, additional Grid Iron Flag Football Programming may be available in the following formats, ask your league commissioner for details.

7on7 Flag Football

For the older age groups, Grid Iron has designed a passing league program that allows participants to focus on positional skills of QB, Receiver, Defensive backs and Safeties.

There are no lineman, blocking, or tackling. The league emphasizes the passing game versus a variety of man-man and zone pass coverage.

Grid Iron Draft League

(Part of the OSN Tournament Series)

The Grid Iron Draft League gives players and coaches an opportunity to experience a draft style season with player combine, coach draft night and, abridged season for a limited number of participants. The Draft League is a highly competitive experience for those that are in it to win it.

Tournament Play

(Part of the OSN Tournament Series)

Winning is the goal for the OSN Tournament Series. Coaches, players and parents should carefully consider their athlete’s physical, mental and emotional preparedness for entering a highly competitive contest. Although the OSN Tournament Series offers a highly competitive atmosphere, Code of Conduct is still in effect during the tournament and is expected to be exemplified by coaches AND parents. Teams will participate with Grid Iron tournament rules in a tournament format established by the commissioner (single elimination, double elimination or other.)

Coach Plays QB Tournament

(Part of the OSN Tournament Series)

We encourage the Parent Coaches to get in the game with this unique 5on5 tournament series. The Coach plays all time quarterback for their own team in this all passing game variation. Coach Plays QB takes place in a fun-filled tournament setting. OSN Tournament Directors WILL NOT TOLERATE poor behavior by players, coaches or parents. Violation of the code of conduct will result in penalties, game forfeiture or dis-qualification.

Player Development Model

The Grid Iron Flag Football program rules have been developed to mimic high school football as closely as possible with due consideration for age appropriate skills, field dimensions and sports equipment size. We believe in teaching kids the right way to play sports so that kids don’t have to relearn game rules at a later time. That’s why the Grid Iron program includes, punts, kick-offs, QB scrambles and laterals and more. Everything about our rules and program structure is intentional, with many years of experience and game day testing to ensure the right approach to developing the players.
