Our mission is to deliver a positive youth sports experience through better coaching, better player development, and keeping families excited about youth sports.
ONE Sports Nation has a dual focus to prepare the student athlete for the next level of competition and keep them excited about playing sports. Its our youth sports philosophy and we share it openly with our coaches, parents and players. What does this mean?
We believe that kids are more capable than we allow them to be. Players should be able to develop their fundamental skills both individually and as members of a team, in order to maximize their youth sports experience.
We require every new ONE Sports Nation coach to complete our coach certification which emphasizes the ONE Sports Nation focus and philosophy on youth sports. We also provide coaching tools to raise the bar on the adult leadership of our teams. A coach can be one of the most influential people in a child’s life, so ONE Sports Nation expects they create a positive experience for every player – it the ONE Sports Nation way.
We strive to create a family fun environment based on mutual respect rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude. We emphasize this to our coaches, expect it from our players, and request that our parents lead by example. Our program is designed to instill good sportsmanship, its evident in our program rules – there are no scholarships at stake on game day.
The goal of our program is for kids to develop skills and play youth sports. When you sign up for our youth sports program, you are committing to practice and games for your player. Every player that attends practice and gives a best effort has earned a fair share of playing time on the field regardless of skill set. Likewise, if a player is not attending practice, it is unfair to the other team members for that player to play an equal share of game time. As parents and coaches, we can’t expect good skills development if kids are not allowed the opportunity to play or practice.
Kids play youth sports because they want to have fun and play with their friends. For that reason, we encourage friends to play together on the same team. Unlike some rec leagues that re-balance their teams every season, we encourage teams to stay together because we’ve proven that skills development happens faster when kids continue to play with the same team. Of course, you can always request to participate on a different team, season to season as you wish.
Our program is open to all children between 3-18 years of age who want to register and play youth sports. Interest and enthusiasm are the only criteria for playing. There are no try-outs and nobody gets cut from the team. This is Youth Sports – there are no scholarships at stake.
