Youth Sports – Parent Tip 6
Players mimic the behaviors and attitudes of their coaches and parents. Hence, it is vitally important to the youth sports culture that the adult leadership (parents and coaches) exhibit the proper conduct that is expected by ONE Sports Nation.
In addition to the code of conduct, coaches and parent should not engage the “other sidelines” to address behavioral issues on the other team. All concerns shall be addressed through the officials and ONLY by the head coach.
WE ENCOURAGE you to praise all players for good play (not just your own team). If a player makes a great play – tell them so!
At the end of the game – all players and coaches must shake hands. Regardless of the game outcome, once the game has concluded we are off to enjoy another weekend with our families and there is no point in stewing about a bad play.
The ONE Sports Nation culture is designed to be different, but we don’t control the behaviors of our spectators – so we need the help of great youth sports coaches and parents to make a great youth sports community.
Our goal is to have parents in our community say “ONE has a great youth sports program, and I want to be a part of it”
